I've had this assignment in my lap since early May, I think.... and with all that was going on at the house, I didn't drive over to the writer's conference in May.... and since this is mid-August, I decided to begin work. It's time. Charles and I are trying to get back into our school year routine and this is part of it.I was up when he was this morning - he had to be in his first meeting by 8. After he left, I went to the new template JD and his elves have created for us to type our work in.... and emailed him... and we decided to do a mini conference. He was headed out to do one with a retired editor who is writing this time but he'd be free after lunch. I could drive to LifeWay or he could come to the hotel. I told him I definitely wasn't driving to LifeWay since the last time I did that, I ended up in New Zealand on the way back to the hotel so, "JD, meet me in the lobby over here."
He arrived a little before 1:30 and we sat in the huge lobby downstairs at a cherry desk across from the check in station... figured we could spread papers out on that desk and the hotel didn't mind a bit.... plugged in my laptop, and plugged in his flash drive and pulled the latest template.... newest and best. Alright. I learned how to type in it and we set up my five different templates for five lessons. And we went over all of the notes and the assignment, and that took a while......then we just rared back and talked. Families, grandbaby, car seats, Jonathan, dating, grandbaby, strollers, Carmen, grandbaby, health care plan, grandbaby, Southern Baptists, things I can take to help my joint pain, nearly 10 years working for LifeWay for me he says, and more grandbaby.... I'm laughing. At 3:00 he said he had to get out of there "to go see (grandbaby)".....
I'm still laughing.
