Lord HAVE mercy! When my mom was here along with my sister - with MeMe Camp in full swing last month and we were talking about the well-loved blackberry cobbler that we used to fix at the cabin, mom and Deb kept saying..."baking powder... wasn't there baking powder in that recipe?"..... and I kept insisting that I had never used baking powder in that recipe.... they would have had to have used plain flour instead of self rising....
This afternoon I got an email from my mom. They DID use baking powder because they DID use plain flour instead of self rising. And they used 3/4 stick of margarine instead of a whole stick.... but here's the big kicker..... they also used 4 cups of fruit.
Therefore..... I edited the recipe I posted from 1 (+) cups of fruit to 3 cups of fruit.
And now comes the best part. CT and I will try one tonight with 3 cups of fruit just to see if it works. (will stick with self rising flour though) Are we good with excuses or what? I'll let ya know.
What would I do without mom to keep me straight? Charles says he and I are both in trouble because we are going in so many different directions. I buy that.
Charles is back at the house and calling for lunch.... gotta go.
