Made the cobbler just like my old recipe, but added 3 cups of blackberries. Baked for 1 hour, 10 minutes. The middle was slightly soupy, but jelled as it cooled - and it was awesome.
One thing to consider - when we made cobblers at the cabin and picked them in the wild, the blackberries were smaller than what we purchased that had been grown and harvested... and the farmed blackberries are MUCH sweeter than the ones in the wild.... and it makes a difference.
In a packing frenzy right now...... The cat will stay behind, but Jonathan will be at the house. Tyler is coming over to crash this week, too, he said. Fine with me, just leave the house as clean as you've found it, guys.
Watched FBC, Spartanburg this morning on TV and guests were Keith and Kristin Getty - my favorite modern hymnwriters. Our new Baptist Hymnal includes some of their hymns. Saw them for the first time at a service @ LifeWay and loved them instantly. They were just as great at FBC this morning. I wish we could go to that church but it's just too far away for us to drive.
