No sleep last night. Papaw knew he HAD to get some sleep so he could not sleep. Duh. I knew I HAD to have sleep, too and what a joke. Savannah got me up once at 3:00 A.M. and the second time at 3:15. She was "a little afraid".... I herded her back to bed and I wasn't very nice the first time.... but the second time I nearly chopped her little head off. She went back in a hurry, bottom lip rolled all the way to her knees.I was UP. No going back to sleep any time soon. I had had all of 1.5 hours. After a couple of hours of playing on the computer, I went back to bed.... for 1.5 hours before I had to be back up. We were meeting Carmen at 9:30 and had an hour .5 in front of us..... We didn't make it - called and told her what had transpired the night before and set the time for later.
I dreaded to get Savannah up, but I did. Come to find out, she did not remember a THING about the night before except that she did not sleep well. We had taken her to a Chinese buffet for her last night with us and she "buffeted" her way down the serving line not once but twice that evening. She didn't remember getting up and she didn't remember MeMe's threatening to spank her if she wasn't back in bed in 30 seconds. WHEW!!!
We met Carmen. Kept hugging Vannah.... hard to say ""Goodbye" to her and she finally got into her car, then jumped out and ran over for one last hug.
Scarlett and I went inside the mini mart to potty and get a drink. HER time had officially begun. We did not have a dull moment on the way back to Hendersonville. Detoured into some of the mountain towns along the way. I went into an AWESOME store that sells the highest end old Hickory furniture and other stuff, I've ever seen in my life. They had a "scratch and dent" room and I racked up in there. Bought a rustic log head board - queen - for the Spring House bedroom. We already have it "'in" up there and oh how cute and mountain-y looking! Sets the whole tone for that little guest quarters. I also bought a leather European pillow cover for a steal, and a couple of other things - a $60 lamp shade - lodge style - for five dollars. Unreal.
We were draggin one foot..... LEG...... behind us by the time we got to MeMe Camp. Of course Scarlett was singing her heart out about MeMe Camp.... the old "farmer in the dell" tune to, "We're going to MeMe Camp, we're going to MeMe Camp....... etc.....
Got settled down and went to bed...... and sleep came quickly.
