Interesting Twist to Our Day.....

Charles was up and out of here before I took my nap this morning.... ran to the bank to put some $$$ in my account and then to get us a biscuit - a rare treat..... only he didn't make it back to the house until lunch time.

He is seeing a real need for us to trade vehicles. It has been 4 years and we have about worn the 2005 minivan out with the moves and remodels over the past several years. Jonathan has a couple of days off and spent this entire soggy day with his dad cleaning the van out. I love clean cars... but you would have never known it with this one in the past year. I remember taking a steam cleaner to the carpet the last winter we were in the lake house - and the van looked new on the inside..... but that's the last time I did that.

Oh they went armed with a bag of old towels and carpet cleaner and said the job was awful, but they got it clean... no, they got it spotless and it smells heavenly. I had no idea this would take place today.

This afternoon they called..... planned to drive a car to the house for me to check out. The wagon Charles found is being checked tomorrow - a light is sticking - so he plans to drive it to the house around lunch time.

In the mean time, they drove the first car to the house. Beautiful, roomy, extremely low mileage, and I'd be most happy to ride in that thing for the next several years. We'll see. We drove back to the dealership so I could see the wagon (and our van was sitting in the lot. I couldn't believe my eyes when I went to check on how clean it had become. Looks like new on the inside. )

Meanwhile here at the house today, Scarlett and I have strung beads, and she has made homemade ice cream sandwiches in the cute molds I bought some time back.... and that was in between Sponge(bob on TV. She wanted to stay in her jammies and I let her. Dreary and rainy most of the day. We just have kicked back and maxed out today. The sun finally came out this afternoon, but we have rain forecast for the rest of the week.
