Still On the Run....

MeMe Camp is still in full swing.... so much so that "Little Bit" sings about it, and talks about it and refers to "MeMe's House", now, as "MeMe Camp".... Fine with the Meem (but the Meem is worn out).... STILL, MeMe Camp is going stronger than ever, and has been since.... uh... way back in June? No wonder Meem is draggin one leg on the floor behind her.

I was all set to have a whole day at the cottage yesterday when Papaw (and they're now calling him "Pap", what's with these kids???) announced that he needed another board from "the store", and suggested that we go to the foam place to get a piece for the window seat in the 3rd bedroom/office while we were out.

That's all Little Bit needed to hear. She was in shopping clothes in a flash, announcing that we'd make a trip to the Dollar*Store, too. Alright. Here we go again. After all, the first trip was a mini. This would be the official traditional $10 shopping spree.

I dragged myself out of my "at home" clothes into my "uniform" that hangs at the ready these days for spur of the moment stuff like this... and off we went.

Made our way to have the foam cut and on my way out the door of that place, I ran smack in to Dianne, our church hostess @ First Baptist for years. She was once in my SS class and she and her elves provided the most gorgeous reception after Carmen and Dean's wedding, I've ever seen. We hugged big and she caught me up on some of "the latest". First time I've seen her in seven years! We promised lunch one day. The list is getting long. I reminded her that we are nearly through with the remodel and she reminded me that there's no need to try to "impress" anybody. I howled and asked, "HOW do I do that? I don't even know how and besides IT DOESN'T MATTER, it IS what it is!" She asked if we are "offically back" and I told her that we are and we aren't.... we're working another year in Tennessee and school starts soon... our plans took a drastic turn in about February when we were about to join FBC and we've been dealing with it ever since. So we'll be back and forth, so give me some time.

I thought as we parted..... how much "time" do we have? We aren't getting any younger. I want to have friends visit on the screened porch. When do I get to do this??? etc. etc. etc.......

Not much time to think about it - we had to go to Piggy*s to get ice cream for Miss O'Hara. She and Papaw went inside and she came out with a waffle cone of dark chocolate. Next thing I knew, Charles and the husband and long time friend of MY good friend, Deborah were talking and laughing as Jerry slurped down a milkshake. We talked about those grandsons for a couple of minutes and some things that had just transpired with that family. It was SO good to see him and he looked good and healthy. Wish I had snapped a picture to suprise you this morning, Deborah. The Meem must be slipping.

We then went to the $$$ store and Scarlett came out with a sack looking like Santa's. In a flash she was wearing her princess tiara and huge diamond earrings. Have mercy! We picked up another Happy*Meal (she's collecting beanie babies) and ran by Lon Sen's to pick up one Sou's chicken dinner to split, and by the time we were REALLY on the road for the house, the rain was DRIVING.... we got absolutely soaked getting into the house but BOY were we glad to get home!

It doesn't end here!

We showered, got in our jammies, ate din din, watched some TV, played "Go Fish", and painted fingernails. She even painted mine - shiny silver on all fingers except my two middle fingers. They are deep purple. THEN we read books - always Robert Sabuda - they are her very favorites and she has ABC Disney memorized - and got to bed at an astounding 11:30.

She's still asleep - It's nearly 9:00 and raining like crazy outside. I love summer mornings like this....was up a little past six.... fed the cat, ate some Cheerios, am watching TODAY, and am going to take a little nap.... Perfect morning for snoozing.....

Later.... I did snooze until 10:00 and the princess was up by 10:30 and ready to be fed! A new day!
