I want this week to fly by. In 40 years of marriage, we've never done it this way. I miss Charles. No need whining, I'll live. He's due in on Thursday evening.
On the news tonight, the Greenville TV station reported a double murder at a remote farmhouse down there and the murderer is still on the loose. Oh great. We are only a few miles from that TV station and we live right on the watershed - thousands of acres with nothing but wildlife inhabiting them and there is a murderer on the loose. I'm sitting here thinking, "What if" and thinking about what I'd do if he showed up here..... My kids will be laughing and calling me paranoid.... but .... Charles told me to get Jonathan to stay up here with me tonight. Charles is not happy with this either.
Anyway.... I'm in the middle of this train of thought with the news blaring on the TV and I THINK I hear banging on the front door of this house. Off goes the TV. Yes, it's banging - more like someone trying to knock the door down.
I am half way across the dining room and yelled, "Who is it?" (thinking - "I just gave away the fact that a woman is inside of this house!).... I asked twice before I heard the answer.
TED AND CINDY..........
Well Charles and Jonathan had called here all afternoon to no answer. Called Ted to get them to come down and check on me. I was thankful for that and we found that the new phone had not charged back up so it would not ring. It was half-way unplugged!
We celebrated by turning on the gas logs and sitting by them talking for nearly 45 minutes!
Surely do hope and pray they catch this person. Will tune in to the 11:00 news.
