Monday Morning.....

At LEAST the wind is not blowing. And we're having a heat wave at 28 degrees outside this morning. And Jason just assured me that when the wind isn't blowing and you're "wrapped up good", that you can work outside and be comfortable in weather like this. Thank You Lord.

This weekend has been one disaster after another as I look back. Charles has spent most of it under the house. He's always a good sport - never moody. Again, Thank You Lord. But to see him have to do this is tough on Linda. And he doesn't complain. He just does what he has to do. Steel resolve that God has used to get him through life.

And then he lit in to the old main bathroom of this cottage on Sunday night. Demolition is the word. Walls, sheetrock, flooring, and even some of the new work that Ted and Jason did (door facing in dining room) had to come down so that we could get the entire shower/bathtub out in one piece. And we did. It's going to Jonathan's. That will save hundreds of dollars.

We had the debris up and out and Jonathan will take down the bedroom closet this morning - he's due in at 10:00 at our house - has the next two days off from work. W0oo0 H0ooo0!

It's supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow, and do you think I'm going to let Charles out the door to drive through the gorge to get back to TN and that high school he's working with? I may have to nail his feet to the floor, but we're under a winter storm watch and he isn't going anywhere if I can stop him. (Yeah, I'm tough when it comes to Charles).... but he says he's "going". We'll see.

Back to it: Last night there was a drain pipe sticking up out of the old bathroom floor. Charles gently pushed it back through the hole to get it below the floor line while we were working. What he didn't realize is that it shattered under the house. He's on his way to Lowe*s to get replacement pipe. Thank the Lord the gas price isn't $4 a gallon with all the trips we're making!

We still have water coming in the resevoir, but not getting to the house..... he's been up there this morning. All is well at the resevoir itself. Again, thank the Lord, he doesn't have to climb the mountain to the spring - the problem is between the resevoir and the house and the pipe is buried deep. Maybe it's at the Spring House. We'll see.

And in all of this he called on the cell phone and asked what I want for breakfast. We should have a kitchen (minus the 9" cabinet and the crown molding across the top of the cabinets) by tonight. Gotta get someone out to look at the Vermont Castings though. We are still dealing with that. And CT is getting more propane this morning just so we'll have a spare tank. We've been too busy to get ourselves on the schedule for one of the two propane companies locally. Thankfully we had 100 pound tanks before we ever purchased the big one.

Ted made it in from Lowe*s a few minutes ago. Not sure when he will start on the new bathroom. Jason fussed at us for not calling him this weekend to help. Then he tells us that his furnace quit over the weekend and he has a wife and 2 kids at home.

Life 'ain't' easy sometimes, but we have to remember that God IS good.
