Monday ~

We made it back to the marina and Jimminy Cricket was it cold outside! For the first time ever, I was a little breathless over the temp. and it got worse as we walked through the marina. Stepping out on our catwalk away from the covered slips, we caught the lake breeze (which was brisk) and it literally took your breath....

Usually when we step into the boat, there is a warmth in here that we know was left from the setting sun earlier in the afternoon. Not last night. It was stone cold. We got in quickly and turned on both heaters.... I didn't think to check the thermometer until an hour or so into this, but when Charles went to bed the temp. had gotten to 60 degrees. Still cold, but I had already turned on the electric blanket - High - so he was fine when he got in bed. I stayed up for a couple of hours and it never got past 66 degrees in here. That's where we would have it at night in the house, so it was ok. We like cooler rooms when we sleep.

We had undone the water totally before we left - good thing - the end of the pipe was frozen so we had to thaw it, but no problems in the boat and we soon had water.

I put up a little Christmas tree last night. We never could find the larger one we fixed last year - am sure it's in a storage location SOMEwhere, but I was going to have a tree... I had bought this one damaged on sale for something like 80% off. Had some things here and strung some popcorn this morning and threw a tartan dish towel around the bottom and we are fixed. Picked up some Clementines on the way home yesterday. (Mom you need to get some) These sweet little tangerines smell like Christmas and are delicious.

Have had my teakettle on all day with cinnamon and cloves steeping - the boat smells like Christmas!

Right many boats are out today. From the grins on these people's faces, they either think we're crazy or they are taken with this delightful little tree sitting in the window.

Received an email from one of our boat neighbors - worried about us being cold last night. I answered - we weren't cold, but it WAS cold in here when we first got here. I'm so thankful to have people in these bigger boats around us who are concerned about us. We just keep forgetting our age, I guess. Laughed on the trip back last night saying... "What are people our age doing about now?" (Warm jammies in front of the TV, or in bed asleep). We laughed at our "life of adventure".

We feel blessed and God is so very good.
