Was up before Charles this morning - boat was nice and warm. He got ready - actually dressed UP for a big meeting today with other school superintendents, consultants from the state dept. ... anyway, a reason to dress more formally, guess I could say. He still has no cell phone so I won't probably talk with him until later tonight. I have a SS class gathering this evening.
Got sleepy, laid back down and before I could get to sleep the phone started ringing. Ted is at the house working... decision: gotta close up a little kitchen closet or tear down the old flue. No brainer again - close up the closet! We're looking at a garden window for the kitchen and he's at the store measuring one right now. Not at all sure if we will be able to get one in that space or not. I need to be over there now. I need to BE THERE!
We've called back and forth all day about stuff. We've gotta pick out a light fixture for the wall over where the bar/counter will be... two-lights, he says. He's ordering new windows for the den, what do I want? Oh gosh. I need to be over there.
In the mean time I'm here on this cozy little boat and the wind is picking up, true to the forecast today. Charles bought marine poles to put under the tarpolean over the boat so water will run off. The wind is getting under that tarp and no telling if there will be anything left by the time he gets back to the boat this afternoon. Wish the Hurricane company could have made us a cover! This tarp is blowing up like a big marshmallow every time a gust of wind comes along! Interesting around here today.
I've only scratched the surface... here's more.... 2 packages in the mail, both are breakable and both were broken to pieces upon arrival. Can't make a claim for 21 days with the US Post Office..... Carmen was up ALL NIGHT with Luke who has a virus..... 4 other kids in line..... I've gotta get out in this wind tonight and drive - and I rarely drive at night anymore - BUT it's for a gathering with my SS class and to be with them will be worth it.....
The good, bad, and exasperating come at the same time, sometimes, but what makes it all worth while is in the picture above. Our hope is in Him, the Baby of Bethlehem.... Ryan Pack preached on Jesus as our Hope on Sunday and it was awesome. Gave us all a new sense of Hope.
Later....
