One Week Before Christmas.....

I sit here on the boat this morning...uh... afternoon (where has the day gone?), warm, cozy, Christmasy ~ and wonder, "Where has December gone?" The picture is of the beautiful broach that "my Janet V." gave to me in parting this week. She and I will get together after Christmas to finish our work on the CBC prayer room.

To say that the next week will be busy, is an understatement, and we'll be traveling.

I went on a packing frenzy yesterday, getting everything extra packed or bagged up to get off of here. There isn't much left in the way of clothes - we'll bring them in and out as we come and go off this boat. We love this boat!

Of course the boat is a disaster today because I'm wrapping gifts.... have the Christmas music going and am enjoying the few boats that are venturing out - it's overcast and chilly. That's never stopped these die-hard fishermen before!

I called Jonathan this morning. He has a sinus infection and is seeing the doctor today. If we make it to the "rails" next week with all of us "well",,, I may never schedule anything like this again at Christmas! The virus is still raging and I told JET to use hand sanitizer coming and going out of that doctor's office. My gosh, he will be in a "germ tank" in that place this afternoon! I've had the REAL flu only once in my life and I was in MY doctor's office with a bunch of sick people the day before. I was getting sicker than a dog by the next day and even with their prescription of the new flu meds, I was in bed for a week.

I told Jonathan to even wear something that's easy to wash and dry and to pitch it into the washing machine when he steps in the door at home - wash in hot water. We are trying to take every precaution to not carry or spread any kind of "bug" germs! I know Janet D., my nurse, is sitting there laughing at this paranoia. Any suggestions, nurse J?? Why do these bugs have to hit at Christmas??

I'm also in trouble with Mom's picture album (no stress involved here). Snap*fish is excellent... but the 1 to 3 day service I've always gotten, hasn't come into "play" this time. I've waited a full week and still no pictures. Hope they are in the PO Box this afternoon! I detest this last minute rush but you'd never know it. IT'S the story of my life! Why breeze through it early when you can be frazzled "late", and drive your BP up at the same time?
