Barbara had asked us to reserve Monday night so we did. A group of our best friends took us out to eat - Barbara and Ron, Susanne and Mike, Janet and Eddie, and Janette and Jimmy. We wanted Reba and Joe there, but didn't want them there because of the
possibility of their getting this awful virus that is going around.... so we wanted them to stay home. CT and I ran by their house with a little "Christmas" for them on our way to meet the rest of the group.We enjoyed the meal - Charles came in the door of Chopt House wearing the quilt hanging that Janette had been commissioned by my SS class to make for me. (just to be cute)...
We ate and talked a lot around the table and then left in the rain to go to
Janette and Jimmy's townhouse for dessert. We talked and laughed until after 10:00 over there and Charles and I didn't get back to the lake until way past 11:00.Got back and discovered a problem with an outlet in the boat that went on the blink (and we don't have many outlets in the boat)...Anyway, Charles didn't go in to school on time Tues morning - went in about an hour late.
A great night.... all laughs, no tears, and promises to keep in touch and have them over to the homeplace for visits.... "lifelong friends" as Jimmy (Charles' SS teacher) said.
We thank God for these people.
