Saturday...

I had to get up for a minute before daybreak and it was cold in this boat... so I turned the heat on. The next thing I knew, it was past 9:00. Charles was dressed and headed out and the boat was toasty warm.

It's pretty windy outside today - boat is doing plenty of rocking. He called before lunch saying he was bringing lunch back (hot wings - his favorite)...

Lots of boats out... there's one above with boater and dog dressed alike... very fashionable (!!) - they even matched their boat..... and another - now THESE guys were serious about their fishing today - must have had 10 rods, several cast, as they navigated past our boat.

I was reorganizing a closet and came across a lite brownie mix I had purchased back in the Spring - had planned to bake brownies for our PJ party but decided against it. We don't have the gas stove hooked up yet and I don't care if we never have it hooked up. It's brand new and I'm doing just fine without it. Bought a $17 toaster oven from W-Mart and use it on occasion. Decided I'd bake those brownies in it this morning just to see how they'd do.

I used Egg B(eaters instead of eggs (to make it with even less fat) and baked half of the mixture in the toaster oven's little pan. The brownies came out perfect - then baked the other half. I've been AMAZED that this little inexpensive oven will give us good quality "stuff" like it does. I think the key is in "watching it closely".... so I cooled the brownies on the foredeck.

Charles walked in about 20 minutes later and exclaimed, "BOY this place smells good!" Yep... smells like home this morning. We'll plan to enjoy a scoop of low fat frozen yogurt this evening with those brownies. A simple treat.

Simple is all we need.
