iced tea.....

One day several years ago, we decided to explore downtown Greenville, SC. We found ourselves in a little cafe on Main Street, right in the thick of things, having lunch. One sip of the iced tea that we had ordered had us oooh -ing and ahhhh-ing about how fabulous it was.

We must have made more noise than we thought, or the server figured what was coming, because the next thing we knew, the owner walked over to our booth where we were trying to figure out what on earth made this tea so good. Figured it had to be the brand of tea which we'd never be able to buy "over the counter"....

He told us that his restaurant had been voted "Best Iced Tea" in Greenville, (what a title!) and was all too happy to tell us how they did it.

They make their tea sweeter than usual tea..... we just happened to LOVE sweet tea, and we use Splen(da always.... but the clincher was that they don't lace with lemon, they flavor it with orange slices. WOW! Where had we BEEN all of these years?

So that's what we do.... use bottled water (we don't like Hickory Star water) and make the tea sweet. Then slice up an orange, place the slices in the pitcher, and enjoy.

Best iced tea in Greenville nothing! This is the best iced tea on the planet!
