friday.....

Charles decided to not work today. He left the boat early and had errands to run much of the day. The battery in the Honda died in the driveway at the house (Lakeshore) yesterday, so he had to walk down to the boat. Not far, if you're not carrying 4 bags of groceries, poor guy.

He worked on the outside of the boat some more - scrubbing and rinsing for us to paint. We don't have that awful stripe all the way off YET (and still have the other side to go), but he is wanting to see some more paint on here, so will probably paint as far as he can go before working on the stripe anymore.

I opened the freezer this afternoon to pull out something to fix for dinner, and what caught my attention was something that reminded me of our recent beach trip. It dawned on me that we had all of the ingredients to have our own mini-low country boil and that's exactly what we did. Of course I served this in a dish - no room to dump it out on newspaper and no kiddos to entertain in doing so - so I pulled out the pewter "fish dish".... Ha! And talking about GOOD!... Even put together Charles' candle that we got at the beach that now has beach sand inside and he will pick out some shells (of the bag-a-day that he collected at the beach) to sit in the sand in this candle holder. Add the battery candle that looks real, in the top and there we have it (minus the shells which are in NC). So we sat here and enjoyed "beach" food with the sliding door open while listening to the downpour outside and watching cold wet boaters go by trying to get out of this lake.

We spent the evening with the news in one ear, and both laptops open. I am behind on everything computer-wise, because I've had a week of it with my computer. I hope this "fix" lasts. The "good" warranty is over in February and I may take another, depending on how everything else is doing with this machine. One minute I'm saying that I'll never buy another DELL computer, and the next minute, I'm realizing that no matter what brand of laptop you purchase, you'd just better have the bucks in the cookie jar to fix it when it needs to be fixed. Bottom line.

God IS good, especially in our infirmaties and even in our calamaties.
