We ran in Wal(ly world to get an auto water dish for the cats, picked up some 9V batteries for the gas logs and remote, and headed back to the house.
It took Jonathan and his dad about 30 minutes to get the logs going. It always does, the first firing of the season. I think they get dusty. Anyway, they are BEAUTIFUL and keep the room toasty warm. The three of us lounged around the bedroom and talked about everything under the sun that had to do with politics and stock market. I left to check email and they kept talking for another hour.
Nothing IN our bedroom except the fireplace, will remain in there when we get it set up right... but it works for the moment. The pic is of Jonathan stretched out on the floor talking with his dad.
Charles was in town earlier today to have the oil changed on the van. Ran in to a parent and three different people who he had graduated from high school. One guy insisted that "Mr. Thomas" take his car in ahead of him "because you're my principal" and wouldn't take "no" for an answer. Made him feel good, I could tell.
He also ran into some friends from First Baptist who said, "Oh, you're in town this weekend - we'll see you'all in church tomorrow"....
Planning on it.
