Good grief. Winter is officially HERE in these hills. And it's supposed to get colder tonight.We are headed back to the boat in about an hour. Charles is in town doing errands and I'm packing a hand full of stuff to take back to the boat.
Yesterday we went back to First Baptist. Another wonderful reception. One gal came up and said, "If you'll start a ladies' Sunday School class when you get back, I'll come." That's encouraging, but I don't know what the Lord would have me do yet. The service was good - we really LIKE this new preacher and are thinking he could possibly be there for a long time to come. He's mid thirties and preaches like he's had a LOT more experience than he's old enough to have had. Jonathan had to work so it was just CT and me. Afterward we went to a favorite Chinese restaurant here and found the food to be better than ever.
Last evening, Charles, Jonathan and I rode down to Greenville. Paid $1.56 for gas. We were astounded. It hasn't been that low in years. The gal at the pump made the statement that we're all going to just DIE when it goes back up. We went through Zax**by's and got salads. I made an honest but awful mistake with the salad dressing. I'll pay for that probably. Way too fattening, but those salads were yummy and would have been so without ANY dressing.
Came back and gathered in our bedroom, turned the gas logs on and played with the cats and talked until time for JET to go to his house and us to get some sleep. I came out and checked email and was up for another two hours connecting with several people at church who gave me their email addresses yesterday. I'm pathetically behind on email. Will try to catch up when we get to the boat this week.
Lead us, Lord.
Before I could get the picture inserted, Charles walked back in with a new church directory from FBC. Said they gladly gave him one and said, "We hope you'all get back real soon".... He didn't know the people. I can hardly wait to look at this book as we travel back to Tennessee today!!! Woooo Hooooo! Is God giving confirmation?
