I was up and at 'em early this morning.... packed some summer clothing to take to storage in Hendersonville when we drive over tomorrow. The school system Charles is working with just went on Fall Break, so he can't go back until next Thursday.
This wild-child husband of mine was paranoid this morning about Puss 'n Boots NOT showing up at the car this afternoon, so he surmises that the cat will go to school with him today. SO... he grabs him and puts him in an already prepared car.... complete with liter box, food and water.... and drives him to school. Puss would get in his lap while driving, he said, and lick his chin. Poor cat... he's going to need therapy.
The cat was fine all day in the car with the window cracked - he retreated to the back and slept inside of the spare tire!
When CT got to the boat, we had to carry huge plants up, and then our clothes that we're putting in storage... then dirty clothes, THEN... what we were taking to the house. Lots of loads with a cat in the car. We got it done, drove down Lakeshore and picked up Miss Friendly and we were on our way....
Strange, but the season has changed. We didn't hear a peep out of Miss Friendly the entire trip. She crawled into Charles' lap and there she slept the entire way. Puss 'n Boots was a different story. He kept wanting to get on the dashboard and lay in the front window. Of course he couldn't do that. Once he was adamant, but I pointed my finger at him and said, "No NO!"... He has been to cat school with Miss Friendly.... He knows what "NO NO" means. NOT a happy camper, he growled at me and finally hissed at me. Charles and I cracked up laughing.
We made it to the house and those cats flew out of the car..... but were inside the house in short order. They're getting used to the homeplace.... nearly time for them to become permanent residents here!
