Wednesday

We awakened this morning to a chill - decided that THIS would be the day to drive by and pick up the heat unit to install in our AC unit on the boat. We had pulled the big plants inside of the boat on Tues. night. Glad we did. The low was 30 degrees down here and our boat looked like an atrium on the inside. I was very happy to move them back outside when the sun came out a little and the temp. went up. We're planning to take them to Hendersonville when we go on Thursday.

This afternoon, I made our first pot of Taco Soup of the season. Also baked some apples - a request from Charles. When he came in from school, I was finishing up dinner. He had gone by the place to get the heat unit only to learn that they have to order it - will be here one day next week. That's ok. Our little electric ceramic heater is keeping us at 74 degrees in here - too warm, so we have to cut it off sometimes. The boat holds the heat well, and our electric blanket is not even on at night.

Anyway... he came through the door hungry.... after checking mail in town and feeding the cats up on Lakeshore. We ate at the work station as usual and declared that this is the best pot of Taco soup we've EVER had. It makes sense that having sour cream (the real stuff - brought back home from the beach trip), black olives, and sharp cheddar on top, HELPED.... plus our fill of Snyder's low fat chips. We then watched election coverage. Will be SOOOO GLAD when this is OVER. OOOOVER!!!!
