So Nice.....
While waiting for the gang to arrive, CT and I enjoyed chicken and dumplins made from scratch... it's cool enough and boy were they good!
Mom, Debbie, Jim, and the two dogs arrived as the sun went down - CT and I were on the screened porch with a fire in the fireplace. Big cobbler on the stove, just out of the oven. We got Debbie, Jim and pooches settled in the Spring House - they were happy with their accommodations and we were glad.... just a perfect little guest spot up there with a short path thru the woods to the house...
We
sat on the porch, devoured the cobbler, and laughed like crazy people. Stayed up late and when it was time for bed, we were still laughing. Dragged our weary bodies to bed around 11. I stayed up a little later preparing us for the next day food wise, then fell into bed. Exhausted.
This morning I was up at 7:10... began frying sausage and bacon on the griddle, eggs sunnyside up, baked biscuits, Debbie made coffee and we took orange juice - all
out to the porch. Charles had a good fire going - it was chilly.... and we ate out there. Awesome! After breakfast the guys rode down to Cooley S*prings about an hour away, and came back loaded with peaches and all kinds of fruit....
We lived on the porch
today.... played a HILARIOUS game of Bunko......grilled steakes this evening - Jim and Jonathan used the new grill that we've had since June..... for the first time this afternoon. This pic is of Jim giving me a hard time....Jim says the grill is awesome..... We also split one rack of baby back pork ribs - bbq'd....J and D said they were the best they'd ever had.... also had a huge layered salad and potatoes... also homemade bread, iced tea.
Sat
on the porch tonight for a dessert Jonathan made for us... cool jello/salad dessert. It was good.
They went to bed over an hour ago. The dogs were pooped too. I am up baking bread for breakfast tomorrow. Planning omelets, hash browns and homemade bread.
Gotta get to bed.... worn out
