Hilarious Sunday Morning.....

I was up around 5:15 this morning. Wide awake as soon as my feet hit the floor. Oh well. I came into the den and watched QVC of all things, until I fell asleep again on the sofa... got back up at 6:00. Decided to start chopping things for our omelets for breakfast.... onions, green pepper, etc. and had a bowl of stuff ready.... Pulled the bread from the bread machine.... pulled the bacon out, got the potatoes ready for hash browns.... everything lined up. Then I waited. (This pic is of Jim [acting stupid] and Debbie looking up @ Charles)

Around 7:30 I heard Debbie and Jim leaving the Spring House.... in another minute they were coming through our back door, dogs and laundry in hand. I started breakfast and Debbie started the coffee because I don't know how (not a coffee drinker).

Mother walks into the kitchen. "Has anybody seen my teeth?" She had lost them and I started laughing. Debbie, Charles and Jim started looking and I kept cooking (and was glad I was the cook). Charles was down under the bed with mom saying, "Now WHY would they be under my bed?" Who knows, Grandma - you LOST them! The more they looked, the more I laughed. I thought, "Oh Lord here we go down the slippery slope" and thought about when someone at "the home" stole my grandmother's teeth - never did get those things back. Mom walked around looking... and just declaring that she had laid them in the guest bath and NOW they were gone (like one of us took them). I was laughing my head off. Debbie finally said, "Well Linda when you find them, you'll have to mail them to her." Mom retorted, "Don't you mail those things - bring 'em to the beach!" Then she remembered. They were in her suitcase.

We had a great breakfast - ate @ the dining room table and talked and laughed and had a good time. Retreated to the porch and sat and talked. No fire for the first time all weekend. It was a little muggy outside. They left around 10:00 and by 10:10 I was back in the bed sound asleep! Slept most of the day - hours and hours. Got back up and watched the last 2/3 of The Sound of Music... headed back to bed but missed Charles... Looked for him and located him in the bedroom/office sound asleep. I covered him up and went to bed, expecting him to come on to our bedroom. Nope. He slept on the built-in all night. I went in this morning and he commented that it slept like a dream. He just had to try it out.

As I type, we're on our way to G'ville, SC. Looking for another sofa, this time for the den. The sofa in there has had a ton of use over the past 14 years but it's falling apart now. We even had it at the lake house. Not even worth recovering. Hope we can find something.
