Interesting Observance....

Our house is taking on a "look" of its own. I didn't know what "theme" to use in the main living area (has always been equestrian), but as we have continued along, it has begun to come together. I think instead of equestrian, it's eclectic. The sofa moved us a long way toward equestrian.... but I have , since buying it, come to visualize our sofa as being very versatile.... here's why:

We stopped at one of my favorite shops on the way home this afternoon. It's near Waynesville, NC and it's called "The Cabin Company". We had stopped there before, on the day we met Carmen to pick up Scarlett for her turn @ MeMe Camp. And that store just knocked my socks off. And their prices sat me down. Way WAY out of MeMe's pocketbook range.

Right inside the door sat our new sofa, only it was longer and the fabric was a different color, including the suede band around the bottom of the skirt. The price on that longer sofa was over $6,000. Sale price was below $4,000 as I remember. And the chairs in that store were over $3,000. Three THOUSAND dollars for a club chair. How ridiculous. Unless you're the wealthy owner of a cabin in Cashiers, NC.

The furniture is outrageous in price (but exquisite), but they also have accessories... not anything like you'd find in TJ(Maxx or any of those stores. This store has pillows that are two and three hundred dollars..... but there is a room down some creaky old steps off the main showroom and in that room are shelves with salvaged stuff.... a lampshade stuck down there because the lamp got broken.... things on big mark down. Naturally I headed straight for that room.
More tomorrow...
