Oh gosh it's been years. We need a sofa for the living room area and if I were to run across a good used one, I'd have it recovered.... but what I've seen are too long.
Thursday, Summerlyn and Charles and I took the day to drive to South Carolina to look, thinking that we'd surely find exactly what we wanted, take the truck back down and bring it home and sit on it. I must have been dreaming.
We first visited the cloth store where Miss Sum Sum chose a black and white zebra print fabric for the antique girly girly chair that we're fixing for her to take back to her room at home. She was excited about that. No holes barred... well almost. She also picked out some dynamite girly girl material for the Meem to make her a skirt. But Meem found nothing for the living room or cloth to cover cushions for the porch. :-( .... this fabric shop is the same place where we had the "horse couch" built nearly 20 years ago. We've loved that little camel-back love seat through the years. They now have a book of possibilities and even sent the book with me to look at if I''d bring it back within 24 hours (which we did).
We went on to a few furniture stores - one old established hi-end place called "Old Colony"..... and I found a sofa by Hickory Chair ..... and it was the right length. It was more than I wanted to spend, but the quality couldn't be beat in the Carolinas. This one had "sold" on the tag, but come to find out it wasnt sold....
CT calling.... hammer and nails in hand.....
