I worked and messed around the house all day getting ready for Summerlyn (and Papaw!!). I was worn out by the time they arrived - around 3:30 but don't think I showed it - I was so excited for Summerlyn to begin her visit with us and she looked like a doll.... tee that said, "Buy it now; tell Dad later".... she's a tweener alright, even at her young age(LOL)...
When I opened the front door and there stood an 11 year old who is now a head taller than me, I could NOT believe my eyes! I have never seen a kid grow as much in my life! I just saw her at Tylers graduation back in mid-May.
Anyway.....

she came in with a huge rolling suitcase and some other stuff papaw had bought her along the way, and then wanted to see the house. She had not seen the sun room.... asked if IT could be her "bedroom" so she could sleep on the window-seat - said it was her favorite room in the house. Did a MeMe's heart good....

Then she went outside. Loved it. The tree house is just "fab".... next thing I knew she had the cushions and pillows up there making it a hang-out.

Then we strung lights and hung a new battery candle lantern. She commented that if Papaw could get the ants to go away (which he will do) that she wanted to spend the night up there.... but then saw 2 "punkin spiders" )granddaddy longlegs..... and brushed them out of her new hang-out..... saying maybe sleeping all night up there wouldn't be a good idea.

Then she was IN the hot tub.... Scarlett used to call it "the hottel".... (pronounced 'hoddle' -we still laugh.) She played in there until supper time.... we ate and then planned our Saturday...... she went back in the hot tub until it got dark outside. We finally got her out and inside for a shower.... then she and I stayed up a little bit, sat in the sunroom in the swing and talked and looked at her little album I made when she was 5 right after my Dad died and she and I had made a trip to Winston to see Ma.... and finally we went to bed. Happily WORN OUT.
