I slept in this morning. My prize printer bit the dust and I stayed up half the night in this hotel room trying to get it to work again. Finally at 3:30 this morning, Nashville time, I gave up and went to bed. Still did not get right to sleep. A good friend in Nashville that I go to breakfast with when we're here, along with JD is - Carolyn - writes a blog and I had been reading it along with an email from her - and is having to have surgery again. I don't know of anyone who has had to have more major surgery than Carolyn and it's for really painful awful stuff - back problems, and knee problems. She isn't even over her latest back surgery (JD and I went to see her while she was convalescing at home before Christmas), and is facing more surgery - knee replacement. And she isn't a "sickly" person at all, this stuff has just "hit" in the past several years and she's several years younger than me - so in light of that, I couldn't get to sleep anyway)... but when sleep came, I was KO'ed for the duration!Got up at 9:30... still not enough sleep, but the phone rang in the room and that was "it" for me. Worked on the printer some more, went to some forums on the internet and after reading what other S200 printer owners have experienced, I'm sure my little jewel has left this world... with new cartridges and a new USB cable! I can use the cable, but the cartridges are a loss. YUCK! That was an expensive 8 pages we ran last night... should have run pages all night! But when I hooked it back up to my laptop, it quit. Things could be a LOT worse.
Talked with Tyler a couple of times today. Talked with Jonathan who told us that the water had NOT frozen at the house - he got a hot shower this morning. P.S. to this sentence - talked with him before dinner tonight and the water IS frozen now. Here we go again.
Anyway, CT and I went out for a quick lunch and he was so kind to run into the drug store and buy a can of hair spray for me. Came out with something that HAS to be "water-in-a-spray-can"..... He tried. My hair is horrible. Missed the last appt. b/c I was in NC, the roots are way grown out, and I cut it and got it crooked. Not good. No help until the 17th when Carmen and I go for our next appt.
By the time we made it back to the hotel, he needed to get on in to his meeting and I came to the room..... took a nap until 5:00. Talked with John D. and we finalized the plan to meet at Olive Garden tonight. Woo Hoo! We love getting together with them when we're here.
Charles came in from his meeting - an hour later than what he thought. These people are totally UNpredictable sometimes and it's hard to plan "time off" when we're over here. They feel very free to claim whatever amount of time they want from his schedule - but we can't fuss so much about that. The situation is good.
We left the hotel and met up with the Dents - they were already there and had a table for us. We all ordered the same dish and split it between couples. You get a LOT of food, and the salad is big and comes with refills if you choose. I can't remember when we've talked and laughed more than we did tonight. They are expecting their first grandchild in the fall and wanted to hear about The Polar Express. We talked about Summerlyn, Savannah and Scarlett's reaction to the "North Pole" and we were laughing out loud. I can't wait to see JD with a grandchild. I've already told him he will be a puddle of Jello. We're excited for them and laughing at the same time. JD is so "proper" and military diciplined at the same time, the guy is not going to know what HIT him when that baby arrives. Add the fact that Laura and Kevin have bought the house right at their back yard, so JD and Jerrie have Laura within hollering distance of their house.... and they don't have a chance!
