Tuesday...... Monday, Too...

Ted and Jason were busy at 7:30 Monday morning, but Tbear had an appt. with the dr. at 2 so he left to buy a laundry list of stuff and then went for his appointment. Jason stayed and worked the entire day. Jason is a magician. He can do this stuff with his eyes closed, and he goes the extra mile also. He is Carmen's age - will be 38 first week of March. Diagnosed with leukemia at age 10, he's a miracle.. and he's gifted in this type of work. This pic is of him clowning with Ted. They are so funny working together... choir director and lieukemia survivor/carpenter. Of course there is a safety feature that will not allow this nail gun to fire a nail at someone.

The kitchen is taking shape. The tile is laid on the floor and the hearth is finished - just have to have the gas line run. Then the Vermont Castings can go in. They moved the refrigerator in today... looks great. The countertops won't be here for another couple of weeks they are saying. And we have a 9" top cabinet due in to go to the right of the stove. A pot rack will go in the middle.

I took a shower in the new shower stall. What a cute unit! What a wonderful shower! It will be easy to make that bathroom look good.

Stayed up late - too late - looking at Facebook. Some good messages from good friends, but I can see that it's a ROYAL robber of time. There are numerous ways to write messages to people, .... and there's a lot to learn. Not at ALL sure I'm in to this. I have also noticed that the vast majority of people in my age group are not a part of this - it seems to be for younger people from Carmen's age group on down. A couple of friends my age - Barbara L, our former pastor's wife, and my good friend Janice are on there, and both are older than me and all three of us have laughed and said our kids got us into this. Robin, my good friend from Alabama pushed me over the edge with it.... but where does the time come from to do it? I am NOT a good planner of my time anymore... not sure if I will stay active on it or not. Might be ok to go on there every now and then to check and see what's going on with people I know..... but other than that...... I'm not at all sure about this. Jonathan says I'll get hooked on it.

Tuesday:

Was up like the alarm had gone off at 7:29 this morning - hurried to unlock the back door. Ted and crew are usually right on time. Sure enough, before I could get back to the bedroom to change into clothes, they came through the door.

It has poured the rain all day. I've talked with CT several times. Ted has gotten a lot of work done today... moulding up around the bottom of the wall in the kitchen... refrigerator is in place and hooked up.... we are really taking shape. Next, Ted will start on the bathroom that has been our main bathroom. We're dividing it in half and making the front half, a snazy half bath and the other side of the wall opens into the laundry area and will be a walk-in pantry... small, but it will be worth its weight in gold. He will start on that on Monday. We have more shopping to do for sink, light fixtures, and toilet.. and tile for the flooring. He has 5 more windows to replace and we told him today to go on and do it. The thermal pane windows have made an unbelievable difference in how easy it is to heat this house. Incredible!

I have slept on and off all day.... have gotten NOTHING done. Slept about 3 hours last night. CT is in TN and I am here - not used to this, in fact HATE IT. Ted and J will not get down here tomorrow so I plan to sleep in. THEN I have to make up for lost time. Have to have stuff out of the way for Ted to begin the bathroom on Monday.

It never ends, but I'm encouraged. CT will be on the road for Nashville tomorrow for the first time without me. Had looked forward to lunch or breakfast with friends this week but it won't happen. Maybe next time....
