Still Freezing, But I Have Hope.....

I can't remember a winter when we've had sustained temps. as low as we've had for the past week or so. No hope of getting any water back until it warms up. It's too cold to get outside and deal with it - PLUS - we have had to deal with frozen pipes for many years, so we "know how it's done". I was up at 4:00 hauling water this morning that Jonathan had gathered and brought to the house last night. Gotta have the commodes ready for use today. Then went back to bed and slept right through Jason and Ted's arrival. They had been working in the other part of the house for 30 minutes before I knew they were here. I was up like a flash!

Heard from the V. Castings man and he will be here either this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Will be so happy to get that stove back!

Charles should be here sometime today. Supposed to get to the 50's outside. Maybe we can solve the mystery of the water.... has been strange all week. Three nights ago we had no more than a trickle. Even the commode in the back of the house filled up with water for a flush when needed. Then the next morning when Jonathan went up and pulled the plug on the resevoir to put in a new stopper, we haven't had a drop of water since - but water continues to flow into the resevoir. We can't figure out where the water is going.

The pic: I threw half a cup of water out the door and it landed in the tree and immediately froze.

Finally: A note at 5:00 today.... temps are warmer, we have water, no broken pipes. Praise God.
