I still am amazed that my old SS class website popped up on that search last night. I wish I could get all of the (a hundred or more) pictures back that are missing. Those were excellent days. The gal who took us to dinner in Brevard at that big beautiful mansion is Judge Dawn. She was pretty funny. I used to tease her and tell her if "I" had to stand before her hiness in court she WOULD look at me and think - "this is my SS teacher - I'd better forgive her criminal activity" and she would laugh and tell me she most certainly would throw me in jail.
Jean - Our craft person extrodinare. LOVED doing crafts... Gave away until she was poor in her purse-strings, yet she was rich.
Deborah - Oh my gosh - my beautiful neighbor down where the homeplace is. Long time close friend that I can't wait to see more of in the near future.
I could go on and on and on about them. Unique class. I found the last class roster we had from the church office the other day. Thirty-six on role. Some of them aren't at FBC now and we never had a Sunday when they were all there - but it felt close sometimes! GOOD group of gals.
Enough of this - I've gotta get that cart loaded and out to the car. Have you ever seen me push a huge cart loaded with luggage, purse, cooler, two laptop computers and various and sundry tote bags? (Most of you have been spared - you'd remember the sight!).... Just hope I can keep all of this "stuff" on the thing to get it in the elevator and out the door....and I just refuse to make 2 trips). I know they're saying at the front desk, "Here comes the old bag lady!" Reminds me of the days when I worked at First Baptist and we'd go to conferences out of town. We'd walk into hotels (where Opra*h had stayed, mind you - we went first class in those days) with sacks, coolers, you name it and the hotel staff would glare at us, (we were sure of it).
We'll be traveling all day after we leave here and will pray God's protection on our journey.
Later...
