Saturday.....

We were up early and busy in no time. Munched on crackers and stuff around here for breakfast. Then CT got busy with wiring in my little office off of our bedroom - and I did laundry.

After a little while Ted called and about an hour after that, he and Cindy came to the house and we looked at kitchen plans and talked about the work that has already been done. If we had any propane in the huge tank out back, we could burn the gas logs in our new fireplace - so we've gotta call and get some delivered.

The kitchen and laundry room cabinets are on order.... but in talking and measuring and looking at plans on the sketch Ted brought, we changed a couple of things. I also spent the rest of the afternoon on the phone with Jenn Air. We have had their grill ranges for the past 30 years and love them. I like the one we've had at this house, but it's a dinosaur now... but it works well..... So we have to decide.... do we want to drop this one in the cabinetry or do we want to buy a new one? I don't LIKE the way the new one's look. I love my old one - it was working when we left this house ~ needs a good scrubbing ~ but it's stainless steel of all things.... Plus, we have some of the accessories that didn't come cheap and won't fit the new units. The cast iron griddle for this stove makes the most awesome toasted cheese sandwiches on the planet, and sits in the place where the grill usually is. ANYWAY.... in talking with the company (who has a file on us for like 30 years and two of their stoves), some of the parts for this stove are now obselete. Great. We're asking ourselves.... do we hot wire this one and make sure it still runs, clean it up, have Ted put it in, and use it until it won't go anymore and we can't find a part to fix it....... or do we play it safe and get a new one?

Ted is definitely getting the mantle on the fireplace this week and they will finish up painting.... The next time we come over, we will begin setting our bedroom back up and we can move on from there. Ted is telling me that I will be putting a Christmas tree up here, this year. I laughed and told him that I put it up at Thanksgiving.... he didn't miss a beat and said I'd STILL be putting a tree up in this house this year. That would be wonderful. WONDERFUL!!

Cindy and Ted went to vote and afterward we picked them up and went to eat at the new BBQ place down below us and right across the state line. WONDERFUL food and their buffet is only $8 per person. Also went to Ted's gorgeous home - the one where we couldn't afford the front door ..... He needed to turn on the heat to keep pipes from freezing.

Came back to the house, turned the clocks, and went to bed. The colors around here are awesome!
